The local gastro pub and restaurant which can be reached within a 20-minute walk, offers meals, or take a long boat cruises along the canal for either afternoon tea or even an evening tapas cruise.
Cyclists and walkers can explore for miles along this part of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
There are more eateries in neighbouring Town Green, which also has a train station, where you can take the train into central Liverpool in half an hour, to enjoy a visit to the theatre or a shopping spree in the popular Liverpool One. The coastal town of Southport is just 8 miles away, with its long sandy beach and promenade.
Visit some of the popular attractions including Splash World, the Botanic Gardens and the renowned Lord Street with an abundance of shops, bars and restaurants.

The pool was the best thing about our stay.
My husband, toddler and I stayed at Buttercup Cottage for 7 nights and unfortunately found the experience far from relaxing.
As the host lives directly on site, both she and workmen were frequently present throughout our visit, which made it difficult to fully relax— especially with my baby explorin...
