Relax and reset in the Swiss mountains at this tranquil escape for 4. Perched on a sunny hillside in the picturesque mountain village of Sambugaro, this charming stone-built chalet provides the ideal retreat to relax and unwind.
Surrounded by lush greenery, a charming panoramic view of the mountains and the Verzasca river the property is the ideal choice for an escape at any time of the year.
Visitors can dine alfresco on the terrace, prepare meals on the BBQ or simply relax in the expansive garden. Arranged over three floors of a typical Ticinese chalet the rustic, wood-beamed and panelled interior offers guests a cosy retreat after a busy day exploring with central heating and a fireplace. On the ground floor guests will find a delightful living space with an open kitchen, a dining table and a cosy seating area by the fireplace.
The kitchen is fitted with; a Nespresso Coffee Machine, a cooker hob, an oven and a fridge freezer. Sleeping Bedroom 1: The first bedroom enjoys direct access to a balcony and the garden.
This room is furnished with a double bed and a wardrobe Bedroom 2: The spacious second bedroom is situated at the top of the house and features a gorgeous, high beamed ceiling. This room is furnished with a double bed, a wardrobe and comfortable seating area. Here guests will find a popular swimming spot, for people who are brave enough to take a dip in the refreshing water.
Adventurers can also try a day out canyoning from the Ponte Bivio Corippo (a 7-minute drive). There are two restaurants within a 10-minute walk (a 3-minute drive) and a grocery store a 10-minute walk away. For something more refined, the beautiful city of Locarno, on the shores of Lake Maggiore, is 30-minute drive away. Here guests can pick up the best local produce at the farmers market every Thursday in Piazza Grande where there are also stalls selling regional crafts, second-hand clothes and books. Popular excursions include a trip to the town of Bellinzona (a 40-minute drive), a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its 3 medieval castles, and if you miss the Locarno market, then Bellinzona’s weekly market (Saturday morning) is one of the best in the region. The closest international airport is Milan Malpensa, a 1 hour 50-minute drive.
