Why didn't I receive my booking confirmation?

If you've made a booking through Holidu, Booking.com, or Airbnb and haven't received your confirmation email, don't worry. Your confirmation is likely in your inbox or may have been filtered. Follow these steps to locate it.

Step 1: Search your email inbox

Your confirmation email may be in one of these locations:

  • Your received/inbox folder
  • Your spam or junk folder
  • Your promotions or updates folder (if using Gmail)

Check all these folders using your booking reference number or confirmation ID as a search term. This is often the quickest way to locate your confirmation.

Step 2: Check your account on the booking platform

For Holidu bookings

If you have a registered Holidu guest account, you can retrieve your confirmation details directly:

  • Log in to your Holidu account
  • Go to "My Bookings"
  • Locate your booking and note the booking ID
  • Use this booking ID to search your email inbox

Your booking details, including your booking ID and host contact information, will be visible in your account even if the email hasn't arrived.

For Booking.com bookings

When you book through Holidu via Booking.com, you should receive two confirmation emails:

  • First email: From Booking.com with your confirmation reference and PIN (keep this confidential)
  • Second email: From Holidu with your booking ID and host contact details (sent once payment is confirmed)

To find your booking reference:

  • Log in to your Booking.com account
  • Navigate to your "Bookings" section
  • Find your reservation and note the booking reference
  • Search your email using this reference number

If you still cannot locate the Booking.com confirmation email, visit Booking.com's help page to request a resend directly from them.

For Airbnb bookings

Your confirmation details are available through your Airbnb account:

  • Log in to your Airbnb account
  • Go to "Trips" to view all your reservations
  • Select your booking to see your reservation details and booking reference
  • Your host contact information and check-in details will be available in your reservation

Any additional communication from Holidu will be sent through the booking message thread with your host. Check this conversation thread for any check-in forms or important information.

Why didn't I receive my confirmation email?

There are several common reasons your confirmation email may not have arrived:

  • Email filters: Your email provider may have automatically sorted it into spam, promotions, or another folder
  • Incorrect email address: Confirm you registered with the correct email address on the booking platform
  • Full inbox: Some email providers reject messages if your inbox is at capacity
  • Email delivery delays: Occasionally, emails take longer to arrive, particularly during peak booking periods
  • Payment not confirmed: If your payment hasn't been fully processed, the confirmation email from the booking platform may not have been sent yet

What information is in your confirmation email?

Your booking confirmation typically includes:

  • Your booking reference or confirmation number
  • Property address and check-in/check-out dates
  • Host contact details
  • Booking amount and payment information
  • Check-in instructions or a link to access them
  • Cancellation policy and booking terms

Even if you haven't received the email, all this information is available in your account on the booking platform.
