Why didn't I receive my booking confirmation?
If you've completed a booking on Holidu, Booking.com, or Airbnb and haven't received your confirmation email, don't worry. Your confirmation is likely in your inbox—it may just need a bit of searching. Follow the steps below to locate your booking confirmation.
Step 1: Search your email inbox
Start by checking these key folders in your email account:
- Your Received folder (main inbox)
- Your Spam or Junk folder
Confirmation emails sometimes get filtered automatically. If you find your email in the Spam folder, mark it as "not spam" to prevent future confirmations from going there.
Step 2: Check your booking account
If you still can't locate your confirmation email, log into your booking account on the platform where you made your reservation. Each platform stores your booking details differently.
For Holidu bookings
If you have a Holidu guest account:
- Log in to your Holidu account
- Navigate to "My bookings"
- Find your booking ID
- Search your email inbox using this booking ID—this will help you locate which folder the confirmation email went to
For Booking.com bookings
When you book through Holidu via Booking.com, you should receive two confirmation emails:
- One from Booking.com containing your booking reference and PIN (confidential)
- One from Holidu (sent once your payment is confirmed) containing your booking ID and host contact details
To find your booking details:
- Log into your Booking.com account
- Go to the "Bookings" section
- Locate your booking reference number
- Search your email inbox with this booking reference
If the Booking.com confirmation email is still missing, visit Booking.com's help center and request they resend it to you.
For Airbnb bookings
If you booked your property through Holidu via Airbnb:
- Log into your Airbnb account
- Go to "Trips" to view your reservation
- Your booking details, including your booking reference, will appear in the message thread with the host
- Your confirmation email from Holidu, including the check-in form link, is sent through the Airbnb chat
- Search your email inbox with your booking reference to locate which folder your confirmation email went to
Why you might not have received your confirmation
There are several common reasons why a booking confirmation email may not appear in your main inbox:
- Email filters: Your email provider's spam filter may have automatically sorted the email
- Incorrect email address: Double-check that the email address you provided during booking matches the one you're checking
- Email server delays: Occasionally, emails can take a few minutes to arrive
- Mailbox full: If your inbox is full, new emails may not be delivered
What information your confirmation email contains
Your booking confirmation email should include:
- Your booking ID or confirmation reference number
- Property address and check-in/check-out dates
- Total price and payment information
- Host contact details
- House rules and amenities
- Check-in instructions or link to the check-in form
Even if you don't find your original confirmation email, you can always access this information by logging into your account on the booking platform and viewing your reservation details.
