When you submit a Host Cancellation request to Holidu, we require specific documentation to properly review and process your case. The type of proof needed depends on the reason for your cancellation request.
Types of Proof Required
Personal Emergency or Health Issue
For cancellations due to personal emergencies or health problems, please provide one of the following:
- Medical certificate
- Doctor's note
- Hospital discharge papers
- Official documentation confirming the illness or emergency
Property Damage from Natural Disaster or Severe Weather
If your property has been affected by a natural disaster or severe weather event, submit:
- Photos clearly showing the property damage
- News reports, official weather alerts, or civil authority statements such as evacuation orders
- Insurance claim or service provider reports (recommended but optional)
Guest Behavior or Safety Concerns
When canceling due to concerns about guest behavior, provide:
- Screenshots of guest messages or behavior that raises valid concerns
- References to specific house rules being violated, if applicable
Technical or Configuration Issues
For technical problems affecting your booking, include:
- Screenshots of the technical issue such as calendar sync errors or double bookings
- Confirmation from Holidu Support or your Account Manager, if applicable
- Documentation of account transitions if applicable, such as emails regarding merges or transfers
Important Considerations
To help us process your request quickly and fairly, keep these points in mind:
- Ensure your documentation is clear, complete, and clearly dated
- Make sure your proof directly links to the affected booking or property
- Personal statements alone cannot be accepted without official documentation
- Concerns must be backed by verifiable evidence or communication, not assumptions
- For technical issues, clearly distinguish system errors from manual setup mistakes
By providing complete and clear documentation upfront, you help us resolve your request more quickly and avoid unnecessary delays.
Please remember that even if a cancellation fee is waived, other negative consequences under this policy will still apply. These include reduced visibility and ranking, loss of status badges, and compromised future performance on booking platforms.
