Discounts are one of the most effective ways to attract more guests, increase your visibility on booking channels, and fill gaps in your calendar.

In Holidu, all discount options are organized under Configuration → Discounts, in two main sections:

  • Attract more guests with discounts
  • Smart ways to fill your calendar

How to set up discounts in your account

  1. Log in to your Holidu Host account.
  2. Go to Configuration → Discounts and choose the discount or flexible condition you want to activate.
  3. Click Configure, set the parameters (percentage, dates, minimum stay duration, etc.), and click Activate to save.

By activating these options, you make your property more competitive in your local market and more attractive to a wider range of travellers.

Attract more guests with discounts

In this section, you can enable different discounts to make your property more appealing:

New Listing Discount

  • Automatically applied to the first 3 confirmed bookings of a new property.
  • Default discount: 20%.
  • If one of the first 3 bookings is canceled, it doesn't count, and the discount stays active until 3 confirmed bookings are reached.

Eligibility:

  • Properties with fewer than 3 confirmed bookings → Eligible
  • Properties with 3 or more confirmed bookings → Not eligible

Important: The New Listing Discount can't be combined with other discounts and takes priority over all other offers.

Discount for Mobile Users

  • Attract guests who book from mobile devices via Booking.com and Holidu.
  • Click Configure, choose the discount percentage, and click Activate.

Loyalty Discount

  • Offer a discount to frequent travellers on Booking.com and Holidu.
  • Click Configure, then Activate.

Early-Bird Discount

  • Ideal for guests who book well in advance.
  • Choose the discount percentage and the number of days before arrival.
  • Click Activate to confirm.

Last-Minute Discount

  • Fill calendar gaps by offering discounts for upcoming stays.
  • Choose the discount percentage and how many days before arrival it applies.
  • Click Activate to enable.

Weekly Discount

  • Applies to bookings of 7 nights or more.
  • Choose the percentage and activate.

Note: Early-Bird and Last-Minute Discounts are dynamic. This means they automatically adjust depending on the booking date. For example, if you set a Last-Minute Discount for the next 7 days, it will always apply to bookings made "today" for stays within those 7 days.

Smart ways to fill your calendar

Beyond discounts, you can make your property more attractive by offering more flexible stay conditions:

Each option can be configured around your property's booking patterns and local demand.

Peak Night Discount Exclusion

Peak Night Discount Exclusion helps you protect the highest-demand nights from being discounted. When enabled, the system identifies your peak-demand nights and excludes them from the applicable discounts. Discounts continue to apply during slower periods, helping attract bookings without reducing revenue when demand is high.

Supported:

  • Weekly discount
  • Early bird discount
  • Mobile discount

You can choose between two protection tiers:

Tier 1 – Peak Demand
Excludes the absolute highest-demand nights

Tier 2 – Peak + High Demand
Excludes the highest-demand nights plus a wider range of high-demand nights

Non-Refundable Cancellation Policy Discount

You can also offer guests a lower rate in exchange for a non-refundable cancellation policy:

  1. Go to Configuration → Cancellation Policies.
  2. Under your standard policies, find the Non-Refundable option.
  3. Choose the discount percentage (10%, 15%, or 20%) and activate it.

This discount can be combined with any other active discount, except the New Listing Discount.

Things to keep in mind

By combining discounts and flexible stay conditions, you can boost your visibility, fill your calendar more effectively, and attract more guests — supported by pricing recommendations that draw on local market data.

  • Cumulative Discounts: Discounts (Early Bird, Last Minute, Length-of-Stay, Mobile, Weekly, and Booking Website) are cumulative and multiply together. For example, for a €100 night with a 30% Early Bird and a 40% Length-of-Stay discount: €100 × (1 − 0.4) × (1 − 0.3) = €42.
  • Exception – New Listing Discount: The New Listing discount does not stack with any other discount. If it applies, no other discount (including Booking Website) will apply for that booking.
  • Booking Website Discount: The Booking Website discount (5%, 10%, or 15%) stacks with all other discounts except the New Listing discount.
  • Stacking is intentional: Cumulative (multiplicative) discounts protect you from selling below your minimum rate, helping you stay profitable and prevent accidental negative pricing.
  • Multiple discounts can apply: Don't worry if several discounts show up on a booking — this is normal, not an error, and you don't need to ask guests to cancel.
