How does Holidu Protect work?

Understanding Holidu Protect

Holidu Protect, powered by Truvi, is an optional damage protection service that replaces traditional security deposits. For just €3 per booked night, your property is protected against guest damages up to €50,000. Instead of asking guests for deposits, Holidu Protect provides automatic coverage in case of accidental, intentional, or criminal damages during a stay.

Key Features

  • The €3 per night fee is automatically deducted from your payout
  • Once activated, your property is covered for all future Holidu bookings across all supported platforms, including Airbnb
  • There is no subscription required—you can deactivate Holidu Protect at any time

What Happens When Holidu Protect is Active

Once you activate Holidu Protect, security deposits are automatically disabled for that property. Every guest booking is screened for potential risks after confirmation.

Screening Outcomes

  • Approved: Full €50,000 coverage (granted in 99.5% of all cases)
  • Flagged: Limited coverage up to €1,000 (approximately 1 out of 300 bookings)
  • Rejected: Booking is canceled automatically with no penalties or fees for you

You can see the screening status for each guest in your booking details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Holidu Protect together with a security deposit?

No. Activating Holidu Protect automatically disables the security deposit for that property. Security deposits can deter bookings from potential guests, whereas Holidu Protect provides comprehensive coverage without this hurdle.

What happens if a guest is flagged or rejected?

If a guest is flagged, you remain protected for up to €1,000 in damages. This typically occurs when email or phone verification cannot be completed. If a booking is rejected, it is canceled automatically with no cancellation fees or penalties applied to you.

Will rejected bookings affect my ranking or Star Host status?

No. Holidu does not charge cancellation fees for rejections, and these cancellations do not negatively impact your ranking or Star Host status.

Is the guest involved in the claims process?

No. Claims are handled professionally by Truvi without guest involvement, helping you avoid disputes and potential negative reviews.

What happens if I deactivate Holidu Protect?

Existing bookings made while Holidu Protect was active remain covered. New bookings after deactivation will not be protected.

Is Holidu Protect available for all properties?
