Configuring amenities for your property is a straightforward process that helps guests find exactly what they need before booking. Here's how to manage your amenities on Holidu.
How to configure amenities
Follow these simple steps to update your property amenities:
- Log in to your Holidu account
- Select the property you wish to modify
- Scroll down and click on "Amenities"
- Activate or deactivate amenities by selecting or unselecting them
- Changes are saved automatically in the system
- Allow up to 24 hours for updates to reflect across all distribution platforms
After updating your amenities configuration, we recommend you also update your property description to reflect any changes and provide guests with complete information.
Most-asked amenities by guests
Before booking, guests frequently ask about these amenities. Making sure they're properly configured can help you reduce customer service inquiries and increase bookings:
- Wi-Fi – Guests want to know if Wi-Fi is suitable for video calls and remote working
- Pets – Specify the accepted number or type of pets if you allow them
- Baby equipment – Clarify if baby cots and high chairs are available, how many, and whether there's an extra fee
- Bicycle and motorbike storage – Note the capacity and whether storage is inside, outside, or sheltered
- Early check-in and late check-out – Indicate if there's an extra charge for these services
- Air conditioning – Specify which rooms have A/C if it's not available throughout the entire property
- Parking – Clarify if parking is at the property or nearby, and whether spots are shared or private
- Property access – Mention step-free access, suitability for reduced mobility, and presence of lifts
- Heated pool – Indicate if it's heated year-round and whether there's an additional charge
- Shared pool – Specify how many other guests share the pool facility
Important guidelines for amenities
When configuring amenities, keep these important points in mind:
- All configured amenities must be legally available for free and at all times, unless a fee is configurable (such as high chairs, baby cots, towels, or bed linen)
- If an item is only available for a fee, it's considered an optional add-on service and cannot be configured as an amenity
- Adding amenities with extra fees can discourage guests, so we recommend providing amenities free of charge whenever possible
- If an amenity cannot be configured in the system, you can mention it in your property description text
Keeping your guests informed
It's extremely important to keep your amenities configuration accurate and up-to-date. If you need to make changes that could negatively affect existing bookings:
- Always inform future guests who would be affected by the changes
- Obtain written confirmation that they're comfortable with the new configuration
- If guests refuse to accept the changes, you must provide free cancellation since you can no longer offer what they originally booked
- Consider offering a discount to guests as compensation for any negative changes while maintaining the booking
