Synchronizing your Holidu calendar with other platforms is a straightforward way to keep your availability up-to-date across multiple channels and avoid double bookings. With iCal synchronization, you can create a two-way connection between Holidu and your other booking platforms, ensuring that booked dates, blocked dates, and availability are always in sync.

How to Import and Export an iCal Calendar
The import and export process remains the same whether you are setting up your first synchronization or adding an additional one.
First-Time Setup
- Log into your other platform and locate the iCal sync options. Find and copy your iCal URL (export link).
- In a new window, log into your Holidu account and select your property.
- On the left-hand side menu, scroll down to Configuration and click on iCal & Synchronization.
- Click Configure to begin your first synchronization.
- Select the name of the channel you wish to synchronize from the list of available options.
- Follow the two setup steps:
- Step 1 – Import: Paste the iCal URL from the other provider into the "Address of iCal" field.
- Step 2 – Export: Copy Holidu's iCal URL and paste it into the iCal import section on the other provider's platform.
- Click Save.
Adding Additional Synchronizations
- Log into your other platform and locate the iCal sync options. Find and copy your iCal URL (export link).
- In a new window, log into your Holidu account and select your property.
- On the left-hand side menu, scroll down to Configuration and click on iCal & Synchronization.
- Click Add new synchronization to add another channel.
- Select the name of the channel you wish to synchronize from the list of available options.

- Step 2 – Export: Copy Holidu's iCal URL and paste it into the iCal import section on the other provider's platform.

Important Notes About Booking.com, Airbnb, and VRBO
Booking.com
In the export settings on Booking.com, make sure to enable the option for Booked and Closed Dates. This ensures that both confirmed bookings and manual blocks synchronize with Holidu, preventing availability conflicts.

Airbnb
Airbnb's iCal synchronization has a time limitation: it only supports synchronization from today through the next 364 days. Dates beyond this 364-day window will not be synchronized. Plan your calendar management accordingly, and ensure you update your Airbnb calendar regularly to maintain accuracy.

Troubleshooting Tips
Calendar Sync Not Working
Check the iCal URL: Ensure the iCal URL is copied correctly without any typos or extra spaces. A single character error will cause the synchronization to fail. Copy the URL directly from your external platform and paste it carefully into Holidu.
Calendar Not Updating
Refresh your calendar: If your calendar does not update immediately after configuration, click the green "Refresh" button in your Holidu settings. Calendar synchronizations may take a few minutes to process. Refresh again if changes do not appear within 5-10 minutes.
Confirming the Sync is Working
Manual test: Always test the connection after setup by creating a test block or reservation on one calendar. Verify that it appears on the other platform within a few minutes. This confirms that the two-way synchronization is functioning correctly before relying on it for your bookings.
Still Having Issues?
If your calendars still are not syncing after checking the URL and refreshing, verify that both your Holidu account and the external platform account have the necessary permissions and that neither account has any pending updates or maintenance notifications.
