Review Guidelines for Hosts
Guest reviews are essential to your success as a host on Holidu. They help future guests make informed decisions and build trust in your property. This guide explains how reviews work, what standards we maintain, and how you can respond to feedback.
Understanding Reviews on Holidu
How the Rating System Works
Guests rate their stay on a scale from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest). Your overall property rating is the average of all scores received. Guests can also provide ratings in specific categories including:
- Location
- Cleanliness
- Description accuracy
- Value for money
Guests may leave written feedback with additional details about their experience.
Who Can Leave Reviews
Reviews come from two sources:
- Holidu guests: Guests who booked directly through Holidu after their stay is completed
- Partner channel guests: Guests who booked via Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, or other connected distribution channels
Manual bookings entered by hosts or property managers do not generate guest reviews.
Reviews vs. Replies
Understanding the difference is important:
- Guest review: A guest's feedback about their stay at your property
- Your reply: Your public response to a guest's review
Where to View Your Reviews
All reviews appear in your Holidu Host account. To access them:
- Log in to your Holidu Host account
- Go to Properties
- Open Configuration → Reviews
Reviews may take up to 14 days to appear after a guest's checkout.
Review Display Across Channels
Reviews are shown on multiple platforms:
- On Holidu, your overall score is displayed prominently
- Full review text is visible only for Holidu bookings
- Partner channels show only reviews from bookings made through that specific platform
How Reviews Are Sorted
Reviews appear in this order:
- Primary sorting by booking date
- Reviews with written content appear first
- Negative reviews display only if your property has at least two reviews total
Review Standards and Compliance
We display all legitimate reviews—positive and negative—that meet our community standards.
Not Allowed in Reviews
- References to illegal activity
- Politically or religiously sensitive content
- Promotional material or external links
- Personal information (names, contact details, payment information)
- Profanity, hate speech, threats, or sexual content
- Spam, fake reviews, or impersonation
Valid Reviews Must Be
- Truthful and travel-related
- Helpful to other prospective guests
- Written by the actual guest who stayed
Responding to Guest Reviews
You can respond publicly to reviews on most channels, including Booking.com, Airbnb, and Holidu. Use your response to:

Important Information
- Guest reviews reflect individual guest opinions, not Holidu
- Holidu acts as a distributor of reviews, not a publisher
- Some reviews may be automatically translated using DeepL—accuracy is not guaranteed
- Hosts and partners must never post reviews on behalf of guests or offer incentives for reviews
